Outings and Events

Throughout the nursery school year, we organise from time to time visits to local places of interest. Recent school trips include Battersea Zoo, The Natural History Museum, the community farm, local outings in the community, such as the park, library, the fire brigade, police station and food shops. Our annual events include Sports Day, a Christmas performance, a visit from Santa and an Easter egg hunt in the park.

For Sports Day, we chose biodegradable, wildflower-seeded papier-mâché medals and handmade seed-paper trophies instead of plastic alternatives.

We wanted the children’s achievements to be celebrated in a meaningful and environmentally thoughtful way, while helping to reduce unnecessary plastic waste. The medals and trophies can be planted and grown, giving them a second life beyond the event itself.
