Childcare Funding

Government-funded childcare options include:

• From 9 months to 2 years old: up to 30 hours per week eligible working parents
• For 2-year-olds: up to 30 hours for eligible working parents
• For 3–4-year-olds: 15 hours per week for all children, with up to 30 hours for eligible working parents

An active eligibility code is required for the full duration of the school year. Parents must reconfirm their details every 3 months via their GOV.UK childcare account.

What funding covers

Government funding covers the educational place only.
Additional services such as outings, enhanced bilingual and cultural experiences reflecting our Nursery approach, special activities, meals, snacks, smocks, rucksacks, and any additional or extended hours not covered by government funding may be charged separately. Registration and deposit fees may also apply where relevant.

Les Chatons will process and submit funding claims on your behalf once eligibility and parental declarations have been completed.

Attendance Options

• All-Year-Round places (46.4 operational weeks)
• Term-Time places (34 operational weeks)

All-Year-Round attendance & fees

For children attending All-Year-Round, nursery places are charged at a termly rate. Fees are calculated based on a 46.4-week operational year, split into three 4-month terms.

Our fees are not averaged across a full 51-week year. They are calculated only for the days the nursery is open, totalling 46.4 weeks per year. Our fees do not apply to: Bank Holidays, Staff training (INSET) days, and the period between Christmas and New Year.

Term-Time attendance & fees

For children attending on a Term-Time basis, nursery places are charged at a termly rate based on our 34-week operational year, split into three school terms.

Funded hours are applied during the weeks the nursery operates for term-time provision. As funded hours are applied during the nursery’s operating weeks, the full weekly funded entitlement remains available.

How are funded hours applied?

Government funding is provided on a term-time basis only (38 weeks per year).

Funded hours are applied to the termly invoice. Depending on the child’s attendance pattern, there may be additional hours outside the funded entitlement which are charged at the applicable non-funded rate.

Invoices are issued and payable per term.

Any discounts or surcharges (where applicable) are applied after funded hours have been taken into account.

Stretched funding approach

Funded hours (15 or 30 hours per week) can be taken in two ways, depending on your child’s attendance pattern:

Term-Time places (34 weeks): Funded hours are applied during the weeks the nursery is open for term-time provision.

All-Year-Round places (46.4 weeks): Funded hours are stretched across the full year, meaning the number of funded hours available each week is slightly reduced.

Funded places are available across a range of attendance options within our regular session structure, and we would be happy to discuss arrangements to suit your individual childcare needs.
