Government-funded childcare options include:
From 9 months old: up to 30 hours per week (term-time only) for eligible working parents
For 3–4-year-olds: 15 hours per week for all children, with up to 30 hours for eligible working parents
Further information and applications are available on the Childcare Choices website.
An active eligibility code is required for the full duration of the school year. Parents must reconfirm their details every 3 months via their GOV.UK childcare account.
Government funding covers the educational place only.
Additional services such as outings, special activities, meals, snacks, registration fee, deposit fee, smock, rucksack, and any additional or extended hours not covered by government funding are charged separately.
Les Chatons Nursery School will apply for the funding on your family’s behalf prior to the start of each term.
For children attending all year round, nursery places are charged at a termly rate. Fees are calculated based on a 49.4-week operational year, split into three 4-month terms.
Our fees are not averaged across a full 51-week year. They are calculated only for the days the nursery is open, totalling 49.4 weeks per year. Our fees do not apply to: Bank Holidays, Staff training (INSET) days, and the period between Christmas and New Year.
Government funding is provided on a term-time basis only (38 weeks per year).
At Les Chatons Nursery School, funding is applied termly, and each term’s invoice reflects the funding available for that specific term.
Funded hours are applied to the termly invoice.
Any remaining hours are charged at the nursery’s standard hourly rate (unfunded hours).
Invoices are issued and payable per term.
Any discounts or surcharges (where applicable) are applied after funded hours have been taken into account.
Funded hours (15 or 30 hours per week) can be taken in two ways, depending on your child’s attendance pattern:
Term-time places (34 weeks): Funded hours are applied during the weeks the nursery is open for term-time provision.
All-year-round places (46.4 weeks): Funded hours are stretched across the full year, meaning the number of funded hours available each week is slightly reduced.
In both cases, the total funded hours will add up to the full annual entitlement (570 or 1,140 hours).
We offer places on an all-year-round basis, with funded hours applied within our regular session structure.
Funded hours can be accessed as part of a range of attendance options, and we would be happy to discuss how these can be used to suit your individual needs.
If you are interested in a term-time-only arrangement, please contact the School Office. Such arrangements may be considered subject to availability and operational requirements.
All fee calculations are illustrative only. Alternative booking patterns may be available.
